Decorative Concrete
Concrete can be turned into
works of art. There are multiple ways to turn traditional gray concrete into awe
inspiring creations. Stamping is a rubber
or polypropylene "stamp" made to look like brick, flagstone, and other building
materials. A inexpensive way to stamp concrete is a technique called the
overlay.
Restrictions apply from the condition of the existing surface. Acid Staining is applied to existing
concrete and changes the color by a chemical reaction with the minerals in
the concrete. Stenciling is a paper
or cardboard stencil that is laid and pressed into freshly poured concrete. It
gives the appearance of cobblestone, brick and other patterns. Click on the
links for more information and pictures about each type of decorative
form.
